I’ve enjoyed several really good bottles this month:

  • A Dolcetto d’Alba Fossati 2007 by Brezza,
  • A “Fides” Barbera d’ Alba 2005 by Pio Cesare,
  • A Clos La Marche, Mercurey by Louis Max, and
  • A Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru by Domaine Armand Rousseau Père & Fils.

All of them were excellent with the stand out for me being the Fides.  All them fall into my “fine” category.

Down on the Mornington Peninsula things are starting to get serious.  Anybody with any sense has put on the last of the sprays for the season and their nets.  It’s countdown to vintage.
