2011 was a difficult year on the Mornington Peninsula – especially for Pinot Noir.  Some vineyards have just resigned themselves to the situation, emptied their barrels down the drain and opened a bottle of something decent to help them reflect on the business of winemaking.  Some vineyards are bottling what they have as a cleanskin or second label – with a suitably reduced price.  Some however are bluffing it out – the first label, the usual price and the wine ???

Well, with the 2011 make sure you taste before you buy – there are some monsters out there …
